Breast implant exchange with total capsulectomy

Case Details

This 67-year-old patient had roughly 36 year old ruptured silicone implants and developed bilateral capsular contracture, left much worse than right. For this, a total capsulectomy with implant exchange was performed. She was previously under the muscle and preferred to stay that way. She knew the left was larger, but not the exact size. After intra-operative sizing, she had placement of Natrelle Soft Touch Extra Full Profile 420 cc on the right and 445 cc on the left for excellent results. It is important to know that capsular contracture does recur, so more procedures may be in a capsular contracture patient’s future.
